A few weeks ago my wife went to the hospital for stomach pain.
They did a CT Scan of her abdomen and thankfully didn't find anything serious.
Today we got the bill in the mail: $9,117.42

お腹痛いってだけでCT撮るって、アメリカの医療ってすごいね！ちょっとしたことでも大げさにするイメージあるけど、実際はどうなんだろう？費用も高そう…

確かに！日本じゃ考えられないよね。CTって結構被曝もあるし、本当に必要なのかって疑っちゃう。でも、何か見逃したくないっていう医者の気持ちも分かる気がする。もし重大な病気が隠れてたら大変だし。
